Background: Anxiety among adolescents, which continues to increase every year, can interfere with the process of self-discovery in adolescents. A common problem is verbal abuse from parents and the surrounding environment. This abuse of children can increase the risk of poor mental health in adolescents, especially anxiety. One complementary therapy that can help influence a person's tense or relaxed state is music therapy. Objective: The purpose of this research is to determine the influence of music therapy on anxiety deravation in adolescents who experience verbal abuse at SMA X Jakarta. Method: The research design used a quasi-experimental pre-test and post-test with a control group, which was then analysed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. The research was conducted at SMA X Jakarta, with 76 respondents from grade 10 selected using non-probability sampling with purposive sampling. Data collection used a research instrument consisting of the HARS (Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale) questionnaire, which had been transcribed by the researcher previously. Result: The results showed that music therapy significantly reduced anxiety levels (p<0.05). Conclusion: This shows that classical music therapy can be used to reduce anxiety levels in adolescents.
