Motivasi Lansia dalam Mengikuti Terapi Kesehatan Senam Ling Tien Kung Di Balai Desa Sumberbendo Kediri

Background: The elderly are an age group that is vulnerable to experiencing a decline in physical and psychological health. Ling Tien Kung health therapy is one of the efforts that can help improve the fitness and quality of life of the elderly. The level of participation of the elderly in this therapy is greatly influenced by the level of motivation possessed by each elderly individual. Objective: To understand the motivation of the elderly in participating in Ling Tien Kung health therapy at the Sumberbendo Village Hall, Pare District, Kediri Regency. Method: Descriptive research design, with a population and sample of 39 respondents, using a total sampling technique. The study was conducted from March 27 to April 30, 2025, with the variable being the Motivation of the Elderly in Participating in Ling Tien Kung Health Therapy at the Sumberbendo Village Hall, Pare District, Kediri Regency. The instruments used were interviews and questionnaires; the data were analyzed using percentages and interpreted quantitatively. Result: Most of the respondents have strong motivation at 74%, and almost half of the respondents have moderate motivation at 26%. Strong motivation is influenced by gender, last education level, who they live with, and access to information, while moderate motivation is influenced by age. Conclusion: It is hoped that the elderly who have a strong motivation will maintain their motivation in participating in Ling Tien Kung health therapy, and that the families of elderly individuals with moderate motivation can provide support by accompanying them, reminding them of therapy schedules, and giving appreciation; while therapy instructors can provide education about the benefits of the therapy.
