Pengembangan Learning Management System First Aid Berbasis Mnemonic SAMBAS untuk Meningkatkan Pengetahuan dan Keterampilan Pertolongan Pertama

Abstract

Background: Traffic accidents are one of the world's problems with high mortality rates. The high mortality rate of traffic accident victims is related to the slow and poor quality of first aid provided by first responders. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the knowledge and skills of first responders in providing initial treatment. Objective: The objective of this study was to develop a First Aid learning management system using the SAMBAS mnemonic approach that can be used to improve students' knowledge and skills in providing first aid in accidents. Method: This was a quasi-experimental study using a pretest-posttest approach without a control group and quota sampling. Results: The results of the statistical test using the Wilcoxon test showed a value of p = 0.000 (p < 0.05) in both knowledge and skills in providing first aid in accident cases with the First Aid learning management system. Conclusion: The First Aid learning management system with the SAMBAS mnemonic can improve knowledge and skills in providing first aid in accident cases.
